HSE & Operations Development Specialist / Engineer – Logistics
ABB Drives, Pitäjänmäki (Hybrid work)
ABB Drives’ logistics operations are growing and evolving, and we are now looking for a new HSE & Operations Development Specialist / Engineer to join our team to support and develop factory material flows, safety, and sustainable operations.
In this role, you will work in a key expert position combining hands-on operational work, process development, and close collaboration with various stakeholders in an international industrial environment.
About the role
You will be part of ABB Drives’ logistics expert team, which is responsible for managing material flows from external warehouses through to outbound operations. We operate at the interface of three different divisions and coordinate the work of logistics service providers – while the physical operations are handled by partners, your role is to guide, develop, and ensure the smooth functioning of the overall process.
In this newly defined role, the focus will be more clearly on specific areas: developing safety practices, managing recycling and scrapping processes, and supporting the operational material flow.
Your key responsibilities
Maintaining and developing the safety of logistics processes (HSE perspective)
Coordinating and developing both recycling and scrapping processes
Process support for material flows and material replenishment
Collaboration with three divisions, internal stakeholders, and external service providers
Possibility to have strong influence on future process details and ramp-up
What we expect from you
A relevant higher education background (e.g. University of Applied Sciences), with the ability to understand the bigger picture and drive things forward
Interest in or experience with safety (HSE), sustainability topics, or operational development
Ability to work closely with people and coordinate activities across multiple interfaces
A structured and analytical working style
Strong interaction and communication skills
Fluency in both Finnish and English (Finnish is a requirement)
Previous experience in similar roles is an advantage. The role is suitable for both an experienced specialist and a more junior professional with strong motivation to learn and develop.
What we offer you
A meaningful and evolving expert role in a global technology company
The opportunity to influence the role’s content and ways of working
Support from a competent and stable team
A hybrid work model (approximately 50/50), with the office located in Pitäjänmäki
Regular working hours (Monday–Friday)
Employment details
The position is fixed-term until the end of the year, with the possibility of extension. We hope for a start at your earliest convenience. Employment terms are according to the Technology Industry Collective Agreement for senior salaried employees.
