Avant Power is part of the Avant Group, a Finnish family-owned company and the global market leader in compact loaders.

Avant Power was established in 2022 to manufacture electric batteries for Avant’s electric loaders. The company has a turnover of approximately €4 million and employs 15 people and both product development and manufacturing are 100% based in Finland.

We are now recruiting for on open position with a title of 

Solution Architect

⚡Your main tasks

Your main responsibility is to design and implement an intelligent cloud-based system that can forecast electricity production and consumption, generate optimal control instructions for microgrids based on predicted market conditions, and participate in electricity / reserve markets with surplus capacity.

Your work is related to OptiGrid -project, which is the newest project at Avant Power. The main focus is to develop a system that can intelligently forecast consumption and production of electricity and act accordingly.

You will begin with a blank canvas and start drafting the solution based on MS Azure. We would love to hear your opinions and experience in developing this architecture. While designing the system with your colleagues and also outside stakeholders, you keep your focus on cost efficiency and bring your expertise to the discussion. Your role also includes hands-on developing.

⚡Who are we looking for?

The person we are looking for has:

• A proven track record of delivering complex systems and a proactive, independent working style
• Strong experience in software development and IT project delivery (planning, implementation. deployment and maintenance)
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken
• Strong skills in:
  • Cloud platforms: MS Azure
  • System design and scalable architecture

We appreciate, if you have experience in the following:

• Experience in the energy sector or electricity markets 
• Strong skills in: Python, Microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, REST APIs, System Design
